Richard Kerekes, Professor Emeritus in UBC’s Chemical and Biological Engineering Department, and co-author David McDonald have received the 2018 Best Research Paper Award from the Journal of the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI). The publication entitled “Rewet in Wet Pressing of Paper” was recognized by the TAPPI Journal Editorial Board for its innovation, creativity, scientific merit, and clear expression of ideas. Their research paper was published in the journal’s September 2018 issue, page 479.
The award will be presented at the TAPPI PaperCon Conference in Indianapolis, IN on May 6.
