Research Day 2014 set for October 1st

With the success of Research Day 2013, the CHBE Graduate Students Club with support from the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department at UBC are set to host another Research Day on October 1st.  Registration deadlines have been extended so it is not too late to register and get in on the fun.

Research Day 2014 will focus on “Gearing for a Sustainable Future”. This full day event will feature 2 keynote speeches, technical presentations, a poster session, networking opportunities and a panel discussion on “Job Search Strategies for Grad Students”.

The objectives of this event are:

-To showcase the research work conducted in engineering departments of UBC across the faculty of Applied Science
-To enhance the Academia-Industry relationship at the graduate level
-To provide lots of networking opportunities and facilitate collaboration

Research Day is anticipated to attract a minimum of 150 participants including engineering graduate students, faculty members, post-doctoral fellows, researchers and industry representatives from engineering departments within UBC and other local academic institutions as well as regional engineering companies.

This student-initiative provides an excellent opportunity to create collaborations between industry and academia and discover funding opportunities. It also provides a unique opportunity for graduate students to network and interact with the community in the region and present their work to a broader audience.
